Considered from the point of view of cognitive psychology,
the psychical mechanisms that are responsible for the human cognition process
are analysed by the author in their complex manifestations, together with
their innovative and constructive character. Being aware of the traps set
by the subjectivity that is typical for the human being, the author tries
to illustrate it with examples taken from the activity of document classification
and indexation.
|
|
After looking back on the evolution of this concept’s
meanings, illustrated with examples taken from the American, English and
French literature, the author extracts ten methodological principles that

|
Cristina CHIVU
|
|
|
The article focuses on those information technologies that
are important for university libraries. Electronic documents bring about
major changes in communication, information and self-training. The latest
trends regarding book and scientific serials production show the importance
that should be ascribed to the electronic journals and e-books. Taking into
consideration that Europe tends to become e-Europe, the development of electronic
collections in university libraries should be given top priority.
